Restoration Fund Set Up For St.Nicholas Church

St. Nicholas Church has set up a Restoration Fund to start raising money towards the cost of repairing the crumbling East Wall.

St.Nicholas Church

Further investigations into the state of the wall need to be completed, and paid for, before repairs can begin; so the Church Wardens are looking for a fund-raiser to help them.

The Parochial Church Council has received an offer of a grant from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund. This is in two phases: -

  1. To help fund further investigation into the causes of the problems with the wall.
  2. To help with the repair costs. There are conditions attached to this grant, which the Parochial Church Council is considering.

Since the repair costs are over six-figures, the church will need help to raise enough funds. If you have experience in this area and would like to help then please contact Mary Langdown, one of the Church Wardens.

“Anyone who has a special reason for giving thanks for a special service at the church may like to consider giving a donation to the Restoration Fund and help to ensure that the fabric of St. Nicholas remains intact,” said Mary Langdown.

Cheques can be made out to "St. Nicholas Church", for the Restoration Fund, and addressed to Mary Langdown, at: - 16, Winchcombe Road, Twyford. RG10 OAT. N.B. Taxpayers – The Church is a charity so we can reclaim tax by Gift Aid, so please advise us if you would like us to do this.
