89th Hurst Horticultural & Cottage Garden Society Show and Exemption Dog Show on Saturday 17 August
There is something for everyone to display their talents in this year's Horticultural Show.
A total of 144 classes from flower arranging to vegetable showing, cooking, sewing, "sticking" and photography, and even brushing the dog up for competition!
The Village Hall and grounds will be transformed again to accommodate the marquees, stalls, refreshment area and children's tug of war, this year's entertainment is by The Trinity Concert Band.
Everything will be open to the public from 1.30pm, when all the exhibits can be viewed. Prize giving is at 4.30pm with the popular produce auction as a finale at approximately 4.45pm.
For details of what and how to enter, schedules for the 89th Annual Hurst Horticultural & Cottage Garden Society Show are available from the village shops. These entries close at 6pm on Wednesday 14th August and all exhibits must be staged before 10am on the morning of the show.
The Dog Show is held in the adjacent field, entries are accepted only on the day of the show from 11.30am, with judging of the first class at 12 noon.
If competition is not for you just come along and enjoy the event. Cream teas, beer, wine and barbeque food will be served throughout the afternoon, together with tombola, plant raffle and stalls. Entry to the show is £1.00 for adults, 50p for seniors and children.
