Successful season for Hurst footballers
Hurst first team footballers scored success in the first division this season by winning the cup and promotion to the premier division of Reading District League.
The reserve team narrowly missed promotion from the second division to first by just one goal, and the players are determined to succeed their colleagues next season.
Training for the new season starts on 2 July. Anyone who would like to join the team, or play with the junior teams, should contact Ty Bolton on 0118 934 xxxx or Jim Wallace on 0118 932 xxxx.
Fund-raising at Hurst Football Club
Now that Hurst Football Club has planning permission for their new pitch and pavilion the club is starting to raise funds to complete the building.
A fund-raising committee including five members of the club and four people from the local community will co-ordinate the work which will include bids to sports and National Lottery funding bodies such as the New Opportunities Fund.
Plans for fund-raising events will take shape in the autumn and details will feature in future editions of this newsletter. If anyone would like to be involved they should contact Jeff Pitt on 0118 934 xxxx.
