NEWS FROM THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
Dug Out Supper
Lively entertainers Cabbages and Things will be making a welcome return to Hurst Village Hall on 16 November when the Royal British Legion Dug Out Supper is held.
The evening promises to be a real sing-a-long night with old favourites and comedy acts to enjoy as well as a good dinner of bangers and mash followed by apple pie and cream.
Tickets are £10.00 each from any of the Legion Committee members or George Claridge on 934 xxxx.
Poppy Appeal
This year's Poppy Appeal starts at the middle of October, and the Legion is looking for people to volunteer to collect at the motorway service stations on the M4 as well as daytime door to door collection in the village. Transport to the service stations is provided and the collecting times for two people is just a couple of hours. Contact George Claridge if you can help.
Remembrance Day falls on Sunday 11 November when there will be a parade outside St. Nicholas Church including local Scouts and Guides.
New members
The Royal British Legion is always interested to hear from people who would like to join – and you don't have to be ex-service. It's a good way of helping the ex-servicemen and women who took part in active campaigns during the last half-century, and their families.
