Hurst Pantomime Group
The third production from the Hurst Pantomime Group, Aladdin, was a huge success.
For this year's show, we had a new sound system, new scenery and some fantastic
lighting. All four performances were sold out and the view of cast and crew (and,
importantly, the audience!) was that the productions just keep getting better.
Of the funds that were raised, £500 has been donated to a fund related to the
Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. The fund provides day-trips and events
for injured military personnel who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan
and are awaiting treatment in NHS hospitals. This can often be long drawn
out and the purpose of the fund is to combat low morale. Amounts were also
donated to local organisations that helped make the pantomime so
successful.
Local Flyball Teams go for Gold
The Brimblecombe Barkers Flyball Teams were successful in events around the
country in 2006, culminating in a Gold Award for one of their dogs, Frisbee.
This was the first year that the Brimblecombe Barkers took part in events and many
of the dogs were re-homed from the
Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre.
For further details on their progress, see their website
www.dbarc.org.uk.
